Friends and accomplices: Superman 2050 (Theatre Unspeakable) featured in
upcoming Stages, Sights & Sounds, presented by the Chicago Humanities Festival
Our good friends at Theatre Un-speak-able area at it again. Following a successful run in New York's Times Square International Theatre Festival, Superman 2050 is one of the performances featured in the upcoming Stages, Sights & Sounds, presented by the Chicago Humanities Festival. Devised and performed by an ensemble of seven (including Lucid Street's own Lily Emerson), Superman 2050 is an action-packed show adeptly told without props, set, or much else, for that matter—beyond the performers themselves, of course.
No matter how dazzling the special effects may be in the upcoming cinematic remake of “Superman,” none will feel as witty or clever as the analog efforts of creator Marc Frost (as Clark Kent/Superman) and his six fellow actors — all clad in blue body-hugging spandex — crammed onto a platform the size of a parking space for this winking yet utterly sincere and high-energy version of the Superman myth. - Nina Metz, Chicago Tribune,"Best of Chicago's fringe theater scene in 2011"
